Fertile Egg Shipping & Hatching Policy

At Feathered Acres, we take great care in collecting, selecting and packing our fertile eggs. As fertile eggs are a natural product, there are a few important things to understand before placing an order.

Fertility

Our breeding pens are regularly fertility tested in our own incubators before fertile eggs are offered for sale.

While we take every care to provide fresh eggs from fertility-tested breeding pens, we cannot guarantee that every egg will develop or hatch.

Hatch results can be affected by many factors, including handling, transport, storage, incubator temperature and humidity, turning and incubator accuracy.

Postage

We offer Express Post for fertile egg orders within Australia, subject to any applicable transport or biosecurity restrictions.

Fertile egg orders are generally posted on Mondays and Tuesdays only. This helps reduce the chance of eggs being held in transit over the weekend and gives them the best possible journey to you.

Eggs are collected fresh, individually checked and carefully packed before leaving Feathered Acres.

If your order is not ready for our Monday or Tuesday postage days, it will be held until the next available postage day so we can send the freshest suitable eggs possible.

If there are any changes to your expected postage day, we will contact you and keep you updated.

Tracking details will be provided once your parcel has been lodged.

Postal handling, delays and conditions during transit are outside our control and may affect fertile eggs even when there is no visible damage to the parcel.

Local Pickup

Local pickup from Feathered Acres in the Upper Hunter, NSW is available by prior arrangement.

We will let you know when your eggs are ready and organise a suitable collection time with you.

As Feathered Acres is a working farm and private residence, please do not arrive without an arranged collection time.

Once collected, the safe transport, storage and incubation of the eggs becomes the customer's responsibility.

When Your Eggs Arrive

Please carefully unpack and inspect your eggs as soon as possible.

If your eggs have been posted, we recommend allowing them time to settle before placing them into your incubator.

Your incubator should be running and stable at the appropriate temperature and humidity before setting your eggs.

Damaged Eggs

We carefully pack every order to help protect the eggs during transport.

If eggs arrive broken or your parcel is visibly damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and provide clear photos of the eggs, packaging and parcel so we can assess the issue.

Any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law continue to apply.

Fertility & Hatch Rates

A fertility result from our own incubators reflects how a breeding pen is performing at Feathered Acres. It does not guarantee the same result after eggs have been transported or incubated elsewhere.

We cannot guarantee a particular hatch rate for posted or collected fertile eggs because incubation, handling, storage and transport conditions after they leave our care are outside our control.

An unsuccessful hatch does not, by itself, establish that an egg was infertile at the time of sale.

Chick Sex & Colour

We cannot guarantee the sex of chicks hatched from fertile eggs.

Some of our breeding pens can produce more than one colour or genetic outcome. Where this applies, the possible outcomes will be explained in the relevant breed or product information.

Availability & Order Timeframes

Fertile eggs are collected to order and availability depends on our hens, fertility, season and current bookings.

If there is a wait for your chosen breed, we will provide an estimated timeframe where possible.

Because we are working with live breeding animals, laying and fertility can change unexpectedly. Estimated availability and dispatch dates may occasionally need to change.

If anything changes with your order or expected postage date, we will contact you and keep you updated.

Cancellations, Issues & Refunds

If you need to cancel or change an order, please contact us as soon as possible.

If eggs have already been collected, prepared or dispatched, your options may depend on the circumstances and any rights available under Australian Consumer Law.

If there is a problem with your order, please contact us so we can review what has happened and work with you on an appropriate resolution.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Before Purchasing

By placing an order with Feathered Acres, you acknowledge that fertile eggs are a natural product and that successful development and hatching can be affected by factors outside our control.

We encourage all customers to read this policy before ordering and to contact us if they have any questions.
