Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before ordering fertile eggs from Feathered Acres. Still have a question? You’re always welcome to get in touch. 🐣🤎

Do you post fertile eggs Australia-wide?

We offer Australia Post Express Post to suitable destinations within Australia, subject to any applicable transport or biosecurity restrictions. Eggs are carefully packed in protective Eggspress Safe cartons.

How much is postage?

Postage is charged per order, including orders containing more than one breed:

  • 1 dozen: $40
  • 2 dozen: $55
  • 3 dozen: $70
  • 4 dozen: $85

Please contact us before ordering more than four dozen to confirm packing and postage arrangements.

When will my order be posted?

We only post on Mondays and Tuesdays to help minimise time in transit over a weekend.

Choose your preferred dispatch week on the product page. This is the week we expect to post your eggs, rather than the date they will arrive.

Availability depends on laying rates, fertility testing and existing bookings. If your dispatch timing needs to change, including due to a public holiday, we’ll contact you.

Tracking details will be provided once your parcel has been lodged.

Can I pick my eggs up instead?

Absolutely! Select pickup at checkout and contact us to arrange a collection time from Martindale in the Upper Hunter, NSW.

Please wait until we confirm your eggs are ready and arrange a time before travelling. Feathered Acres is a working farm and private residence.

Do you offer local delivery?

Local delivery is available to eligible addresses where it is offered at checkout. Please contact us to confirm arrangements.

How fresh are the eggs?

We collect eggs fresh from our breeding pens and carefully check them before selecting and packing your order.

Do you test fertility?

Yes. Our breeding pens are regularly fertility tested in our own incubators before eggs are offered for sale.

Do you guarantee fertility or hatch rates?

We cannot guarantee that every egg will develop or hatch, or promise a particular hatch rate.

Handling, transport, storage and incubation conditions can affect results for both posted and collected eggs. Please read our Fertile Egg Shipping & Hatching Policy before ordering.

What should I do when my eggs arrive?

Carefully unpack and inspect them. Allow posted eggs time to settle before setting them, and make sure your incubator is running steadily at the appropriate temperature and humidity.

Can I choose the sex or colour of the chicks?

We cannot guarantee chick sex. Some breeding pens can also produce different colour outcomes. Please check the relevant breed information or contact us before ordering if you have questions.

What if my parcel is damaged or delayed?

Contact us promptly with your order number. For damage, include clear photos of the parcel, packaging and affected eggs.

We’ll assess the issue and assist with tracking or postal enquiries where possible. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law continue to apply.

Can I order more than one breed?

Yes, subject to availability. Add your chosen breeds to your cart and check their dispatch weeks before paying. If you need help coordinating an order, please contact us.
